Sadly we announce the death of one of our oldest and respected club members, Frank Usher. Frank joined the club in 1977, at the time of the running revolution. He was a marathon man, who often ran to work – anything up to 20kms. Frank enjoyed all aspects of club life, running, walking and helping. Such is the strength of the friendships formed in our club, Frank was regularly at Sunday runs for the all important ‘chat and coffee’ and met with the Tuesday group to celebrate birthdays with champagne and cake (and egg sandwiches).
Frank was an award winning educationalist and school principal who provided opportunities to many disadvantaged students.
He was a kind, gentle man.
Sincere condolences to Betty, Brian and Michelle.
