Ex-member Arthur Leggett will pay a visit to the Matagarup run on 19 September to celebrate the fact that he turned 103 on 8 September.
Almost all of the older members know what a great person he is, and I am sure that most of the younger members will think so too, after seeing and hearing him.
He was a very good runner and is well known for many things, including writing and reciting bush poetry. He’s an inspiration to anyone aspiring to have a long and good retirement.
We are hoping that he will once again recite some of his bush poetry. I know that Wayne Pantell ,director of Matagarup, also likes to write and recite bush poetry, so we might be lucky enough to be treated to a double ticket!
